[PRESS RELEASE] Two New Reports Created To Help Expats Without A U.S. Credit History

Woodbury, NY — February 1, 2018 — International AutoSource (IAS) has published two new reports to help expats understand what they need to build credit and to lease, buy or rent a vehicle without a U.S. credit history. The first report titled, “Credit Doesn’t Travel: What you Need to Know About Credit Reporting Around the World” outlines how counties use different systems for credit scoring and that credit does not transfer from country to country. “It’s important for expats to understand that upon arrival to a new country, they start out with a score of 0, says James Krulder, Director with International AutoSource. “This can make it difficult to make much needed purchases since businesses often require credit checks to obtain cell phones, car loans, home and auto insurance and housing.”

The second report titled, “U.S. Transportation Challenges” provides helpful credit and transportation statistics for the United States, such as, almost 88% of U.S. commuters drive to work due to the lack of public transportation, 90% of lenders use FICO scores when making lending decisions and how your FICO score is determined in the U.S. Learn more about U.S. transportation and credit challenges.

International AutoSource also recently published a blog post titled, “Building Your U.S. Credit History as an Expat,” which outlines everything an expat needs to know to build his or her credit and how they can buy, lease or rent a vehicle without a U.S. credit history. This post can be found at: http://blog.intlauto.com/ [Pending blog post this Thurs.]

“We’re excited to share this valuable information with expatriates as they prepare to move to the U.S., says James Krulder. “Working abroad can be one of the most exciting experiences of your life, but it can also come with some challenges, especially if you’re not prepared.”
