At IAS we’re committed to providing exceptional service to our customers and clients regardless of the circumstances. In late June an Immigration Proclamation was put into place limiting the types of work visas that will be issued through the end of the year. If you had planned on using one of the now restricted visa types there are alternate visa options that may be available for you if your company qualifies.

On August 12th the U.S. Department of State issued an update broadening the exemptions to the immigration proclamation that was put in place by President Trump on June 22nd to restrict the type of work visas issued through the end of 2020. This new guidance provides exceptions for certain types of H, L and J visas whose travel to the U.S. would be of national interest. These applicants who qualify can request a visa application appointment at the closest embassy or consulate to obtain their visa and enter the U.S. while the travel ban is in effect.
Update: On December 31st, President Trump extended the order through March 31, 2021.
